Think Twice in Ice

Today's Miracle Monday is a road miracle that comes to us from Sister Bethany Darr.

A recent blog article reminded me of something God did for me in January 2015.

At the time, I was living at my sister's house in Pennsylvania. It had rained the previous night, and then the temperature dropped significantly. As I walked out to my car early in the morning to go to work, I had a very bad feeling — something urging me to just call off. I fell several times just trying to get to my car because the whole ground was covered with a sheet of ice.

Growing up in Maine, I was used to driving in harsh weather conditions, however I had never attempted to drive on pure ice and didn’t know at that time that it's impossible to drive on. I kept telling myself that I would be fine because I just got new tires on the car. (I know, it wasn’t my best moment of judgment!)

I finally got to the car and then said a prayer. I didn’t listen to that voice telling me to call off because I hated calling off of work and feared being reprimanded.

Some may know that my sister lives on the top of a huge hill. The road I take has a big concrete wall towards the bottom of it. (I think we all know where this is going.)

As I proceeded down the hill, I immediately lost all control of my car — nothing would slow it down. All I could think was that I was going to die that day. I knew that hitting that wall would be fatal. In a panic, I cried out, “Jesus, please help me!” and immediately the car did a 360 and caught on a telephone pole about halfway down the hill. It was hanging on to that pole by just one tire!

I praise God for sparing my life that day. He showed mercy on me even when I did not listen to that still, small voice trying to tell me something. Oh, how He loves us!

How Did God Spare You?

Do you have a story to share about a time when God had mercy on you and spared you from something, whether an injury, accident, or maybe from an intangible danger? We'd love to hear about it and share it on a future Miracle Monday.

So thankful God kept you safe. Like life, somtimes we have no control and we ask for God's help and He causes us to do a 360, keeping us safe and directing our steps.
God takes care of His precious children and I thank Him for taking care of my precious children.
He has ways of teaching us that He wants our trust and He is always there. We are so Blessed because of it. All Honor and Glory belongs to Him.
