Let It Burn
Many of you (especially those of you who have kids in your life) are familiar with the Academy Award-winning and much-played (and parodied) song "Let It Go" from Disney's "Frozen." Well, as you'll read in today's Miracle Monday, Sister Flo Benyola recently found herself in the interesting position of saying, "Let it burn."
I live in the beautiful little town of Yucaipa. When I first came here I thought it was a wonderful place to raise children. You can imagine how I felt when an inappropriate adult video store showed up right on Yucaipa Blvd.
I had to drive past it every day. I used to imagine it burning down — without anyone getting hurt, of course. The days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into a few years.
Then one day as I was driving by I saw it surrounded by fire trucks. I turned into the parking lot because I didn't see a fire.
I asked what was happening and I was told that they were going to widen the street. Since the building was so close to the road, it had to be demolished.
The fire trucks were there for training. They were setting controlled fires in the building so they could practice putting them out. I thought back to how I'd envisioned the building burning (but no one getting hurt).
Needless to say, I went to the demolition ceremony and couldn't stop praising God for answered prayer.
