Finding Christ Amid the Chaos
Dear brothers, sisters, and friends,
Life has sure changed in the past month. The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in quarantine and isolation to slow the spread of the disease and protect the most vulnerable. As a result, The Church has had to suspend all in-person meetings. Thankfully, though, we've been able to use technology to communicate with one another and even hold remote church services.
On Sunday, March 29, 2020, Brother Joel Gehly addressed the church via Livestream, and he shared a message of courage and trust in Almighty God. He also related several experiences to encourage us and confirm that God is speaking to His people in this time of widespread fear.
Here are the experiences he shared:
The word of the Lord given to a brother: "Thus saith the Lord, Release yourselves of this fear. For I am a great God who will stand against the forces of all evil for you. Stand with me without fear. Trust in me, for there is a greater power that is in you than that is in the world."
A sister from the Midwest Region was given a dream, and these words were spoken to her: "You are protected by God."
A sister from the Penn Mid-Atlantic Region awoke one morning with scripture given to her: "Therefore blessed are they who will repent and hearken unto the voice of the Lord their God, for these are they that shall be saved." (Helaman 12:23)
A sister from the Atlantic Coast Region had a vision. As the brothers and sisters were kneeling in their branch, praying for the nation and the world, the sister saw in a vision a pillar of fire enter the church building and go all the way toward the rostrum. Then two brilliant lights illuminated the pulpit, illuminating the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
God bless you and protect you!
